Clicking On Sub-category loads default Gantry 5 Template?

Hi,

I have setup a menu system with the option "Shower Enclosures" which is underneath a main menu item called "bathrooms". When you click on the "shower enclosure" option, it loads another set of categories and in these categories, they have products, but when you click on the sub categories, it loads a default Gantry template even though the link shows a link to the category 37?? (see attached image).

This was working ok so I setup another test category list just to see if it was related to corruption but this is doing the same thing. Is there an option somewhere that there is a limit the level of categories?

Regards

Ronan

Hi,

What is the "item menu"?

I checked that the default template was the same as the others?

Thanks

This has also happened.

When you click on the product image or details you get this url which brings you to
the product:-

"domain"/tiles/floor-tiles/product/view/48/31.html

But when you click on the "buy" button, it brings you to a Gantry 5 template??

"domain"/component/jshopping/product/view/48/31.html?Itemid=0

Any Idea's??

HI,

Thanks for the quick response.

The link that you sent points to an old version of Joomshopping. The new version does not have categories or
static pages??

So, I created a hidden menu and put a menu option it it called "shop" which is a "product Listing". It works but doesn't show up on the main menu, which is what I want.

But when you click on the "buy" option on a product, a message comes up with "Notice - Please select the products options"???

Thanks

Alan

Hi,

After doing some testing, it seems to be related to the "Attributes" for each product.

If I do not include the attributes, it works when you click the "buy" button, but if I include the
attributes, it comes up with the "Notice - Please select the product options".

I've deleted them, saved and re-entered them, but it's still doing the same thing.

I've no idea why this is?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, the attributes are selected and added to the product. It Is when they are added to the product that the
problem happens. If you remove them from the product, then it works fine???

It's very strange??? I've tried setting up a completely new category and product with new attributes just
in case there was any corruption but it did the same thing? We've had to disable the buy button and
just have the details button for now, but we want the buy button activated.

Some of the posts about this error go back to 2010, which was a long time ago and the software has
changed. I also tried a different template and browser to see if it was these, but the same error occurred.

Regards

Ronan

Hi,

Please see image. When you click on the "Buy" button, the following url shows and bring you to
the "Notice" error. You do not get this error when you click on the image or the details button.

Image and details url is:-

"domain"/tiles/floor-tiles/product/view/48/31.htm

Here is a link to a test site which is doing the same thing. I've had to add the product listing to stop it loading up the default template which works, but when you click the "buy" button and scroll down, you'll see the Notice message.

Hi,

You mentioned "- redirect to product for select attribute".

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by this?

I've remove the product list and put it in a hidden menu as this will not be on the actual menu.

So now, I've just left 2 products - one with attributes and one with no attributes.

1. The one with attributes comes up with a "Notice Error" and goes into the product when you click "buy"

2. The one with NO attributes goes to the shopping cart (which I assume is correct)

So there is something going wrong with the attributes which is causing the error and the wrong selection?

Thanks

Hi,

Shouldn't attributes just be part of the product info and have nothing got to do with the check out
process?

I don't know why attributes are causing this problem with the "Notice" error? The products require the
customer to make a selection depending on what they require, so why is the notice error coming up, I still
don't understand??? How can we stop it coming up?

What does "Please select the product options" actually mean? The attributes are selected??

Thanks

Hi,

Ok, I think I understand what you mean.

If a product has attributes, then you have to select the attributes before you buy the product otherwise the
notice error comes up.

If the product does not have any attributes, then you can go ahead and buy the product.

So how can I choose which product have a "buy / details" option and which product can have a "details" only option?

Is this possible on a "per product" basis?

Thanks
