could it be that some modal script is missing in advance of the link in php file?
if I right click and open in new destination (e.g. tab) it works. so link is correct, just not opening.
in product view (product_default.php) it works.

2.
additional I found some layout differences in cart when I use multilanguage.
when I use German as default language, everything looks correct.
when I switch to English, then 'plus shipping' is aligned center aswell as text in (cart-)module. and a light grey borders show up below the cart summary as well as in (cart-)module. as it only happens when switching to not default language I don't think it's joomla template css related, or?

when changing from default (DE) to EN suddenly borders appear and shipping button is centered instead of right alignment.

tried to compare the source in browser but can't really find out.

one item is available in shop so you can place it in cart.
then switch between language and see.
