How to load a different template page??

Hi,

I'm using Joomla 3.8.6 and Gantry 5 with Joomshopping.

I setup a number of categories and when I click on the category, it keeps loading the
front page default template with the slideshow which I do not want.

I have setup an alternative Gantry 5 page called "shop" which works if I use the standard Joomla
menu system as you can define what template to load in there, but with joomshopping,
I do not see an option in the category menu to select a specific template so it just loads
the default which has the front page slideshow.

Is there a way of doing this?

Thanks

Aw: How to load a different template page??

Hi,

It's not really a screen shot kind of problem. I'm not sure what I would screen shot?

When I click on a category and it loads the default page but if I have a menu option (which you can select which
template to load in Joomla) it works fine. Is there a way that Joomshopping can select a template or
is it just programmed to load the default template?

Thanks

Aw: How to load a different template page??

Hi,

Unfortunately it's not a menu assignment.

Ok, let me see if I can explain it better.

If the Joomla Menu is used (JoomShopping Category option selected for menu options).

Menu Option A (Joomla template x)
Menu Option B (Joomla Template y)

Now, when you click on the menu option, it loads the exact template without the slideshow as
I have created a Gantry 5 template without the slideshow showing.

Menu Option A will have sub-categories which will show up on the screen as icons with the slideshow
showing. When you click on the sub-category icon, there is no option to tell the sub-category what
template to load so it just loads the default home page template which has the slideshow.

So loading a sub-category will use the default template and I would like to tell the sub-category
which template to use.

Every time the default is loaded with the sub-category, you have to scroll past the slideshow to
see the products. If the slideshow wasn't showing, the products would display at the top of the
page.

I hope this helps to clarify the problem.

Thanks

Ronan

Aw: How to load a different template page??

Hi,

Here is a demo site with the same problem that I setup.

Hopefully you'll see from the attached file that clicking on the first category from the Joomla menu works
fine as I can control the template that the menu option can use, but by default, Joomshopping
is designed to load the default home page template, so when I click on the sub-category, it should show
a list of products but it just displays the default home page as Joomshopping is not able to
select what template it can use. If there was an option on the category config that gave you an option
to select a template, that would solve the problem.

I hope this helps. If you need to log into this test site, I can email you a username and password
so you can see what is happening.

Thanks

Hi,

I want to avoid doing that as there are too many sub-categories and the menu system would be huge!

Is there a way to tell Joomshopping what template to load in the coding?

Thanks

Hi,

I managed to solve the problem so here is what Joomshopping users need to do if they
get the same problem.

If you have a slideshow on your website and it keeps coming up on every page of the shop, so
go into the module position and make sure that the slideshow is only selected for the front page only.

This will stop the slideshow from coming up on the joomshopping pages. :-)
